📍 Location of our holiday cottage in Saint Aubin sur Mer

Our holiday rental is located in Saint Aubin sur Mer (14750), a family-friendly seaside resort on the Côte de Nacre, in the Calvados area of Normandy. The house is about 100 m from a bakery, 250 m from a butcher and a small supermarket, so you can do your daily shopping on foot without needing a car. Two larger supermarkets are about 2 km away for your bigger shopping trips.

The sea is about 150 m away, with a small, quiet and sheltered cove (dogs allowed), and the seafront promenade and the tourist office are around 250 m away. The house is slightly set back from the village centre, in a quieter area, and a wide pavement in front of the house allows angled parking, which makes it easier to park even in the summer season. The garden is enclosed and is adapted for quiet dogs.

🌊 The beach and nearby activities

The beach of Saint Aubin sur Mer is safe and supervised in summer, which is very reassuring for families with young children. The little ones can swim in good conditions under their parents' supervision. Throughout the summer, the town organises many activities so you can enjoy your days and evenings in a relaxed holiday atmosphere.

Along the seafront promenade and in the village centre, restaurants, tea rooms, ice-cream sellers and pizzerias offer many options for a meal or a drink after the beach. Shore-fishing enthusiasts can collect prawns (from 1st August), grey shrimps, small crabs and edible crabs during the spring tides, while anglers can catch plaice, sea bass and other fish.

The area around Saint Aubin sur Mer is full of historical sites and family outings. About 20 km away, Caen offers the Memorial museum, William the Conqueror's castle and the Abbaye aux Dames, as well as many shops and hypermarkets for less sunny days. Bayeux, about 25 km away, is home to the famous Bayeux Tapestry, museums, a beautiful cathedral and a charming historic town centre.

Around 10 km away, Arromanches and its D‑Day museum let you explore the story of the artificial harbour and the D‑Day landing beaches.
